A Godfrey resident was charged separately on Feb. 17, 2026 in another felony domestic battery case. 32-year-old Matthew A. Peake of Godfrey faces a Class 2 felony count of aggravated domestic battery and a Class A misdemeanor count of domestic battery.

Both charges stem from an incident on Feb. 16, 2026, when Peake is accused of knowingly causing bodily harm to a household or family member by committing an act of domestic battery.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office presented the case against Peake, who was ordered released from custody pending trial with additional conditions.
