IHSA PLAYOFFS – REGIONAL FINALS

CLASS 1A

In the Carrollton regional, Hardin Calhoun advanced with a 63-61 win over Pawnee. The Warriors are now 27-5, and play Mt. Sterling Brown County, who won the Payson Seymour regional 78-20 over Springfield Calvary, in the second semifinal at Nokomis Wednesday night at 7 p.m. The Indians finish up at 19-14.

At Bunker Hill, the host Minutemen won their regional at Jim Hlafka Hall over Carlyle 53-26. Bunker Hill is now 24-7, and plays Jacksonville Routt Catholic, a New Berlin over the host Pretzels 63-47 in the first semifinal Tuesday at 7 p.m. The Indians finish the season at 20-14.

In the final at Elkville Elverado, Waltonville eliminated New Athens 61-28. The Spartans are now 28-4 and advance to the Campbell Hill Trico sectional, where they will play Elizabethtown Hardin County, who won the Gallatin Junction County regional over Norris City-Omaha-Enfield 53-51, Tuesday night at 7 p.m. The Yellow Jackets finish the season at 24-7.

CLASS 2A

In the final of the Carlinville regional, Staunton won over the Cavaliers 56-37 at the Carlinville Big House. The Bulldogs are now 29-3, and go to the Pleasant Plains sectional against Rochester, who eliminated Williamsville to win the Williamsville regional 50-41, Wednesday at 7 p.m. Carlinville ends the season 19-13.

In the Roxana final at Larry Milazzo Memorial Gym, the host Shells eliminated Marquette Catholic 38-31 to advance to the Pleasant Plains sectional. Roxana is now 24-9, and will play against Quincy Notre Dame Catholic, who won the Virden North Mac regional over the host Panthers 54-47, Tuesday at 7 p.m. The Explorers finish up at 25-7.

In the final at Columbia, Breese Central knocked out Breese Mater Dei Catholic, and goes on to the Nashville sectional against Carterville, who won the Metropolis Massac County regional over the host Patriots 47-45, Wednesday at 7 p.m. The Cougars are now 23-9, while the Knights end the season 18-15.

CLASS 3A

East St. Louis won the Mascoutah regional over Marion 65-53 and advanced to the Waterloo sectional against Jacksonville, who won the Jersey regional over Civic Memorial 45-26, in the Waterloo sectional Wednesday at 7 p.m. The Flyers are now 28-4, and the Crimson are now 23-8, while the Wildcats conclude at 17—12, and the Eagles finish up at 15-17.

On the Triad regional, the host Knights eliminated Chatham Glenwood 41-20, and will play at Waterloo against Centralia, who won their own regional over Mt. Vernon 33-22, Tuesday at 7 p.m. The Knights are now 24-9, while the Titans finish up at 11-17.
