PIASA - Southwestern boys basketball coach Jason Darr has spent the past 12 years coaching members of the Robinson family, and he said it will be very nice to have junior Cason Robinson returning for the 2026-2027 season.
Darr, the head coach of the Piasa Birds, reflected on Robinson’s 2025-26 season and the team’s progress after a difficult start.

“Cason had a good season; he had some big games and had to fight through the adversity of other teams guarding him so tightly. I think it made him a better player and us a better team,” Darr said.
Robinson, a junior, had one of his biggest performances Feb. 20, 2026, against North Mac, scoring 19 points while shooting 58 percent from the field.
He has also been named an Altonized Community Federal Credit Union Male Athlete of the Month for the Piasa Birds.
Darr said coaching members of the Robinson family has been a long-running part of his tenure.
“I coached all of the Robinson brothers, which is kind of cool," Darr said. "They are all great kids and a great family. It will be weird when Cason graduates. I have been lucky enough to coach these guys for the last 12 years."
