Keagan Thomas is Proud Future Educator at Civic Memorial

BETHALTO - Keagan Thomas works toward her goals.

For her accomplishments, Keagan Thomas is a DD Homes Network Student of the Month for Civic Memorial High School.

Thomas, a senior, is a well-rounded student athlete. She plays volleyball and soccer, and she also participates on the cheerleading team. It takes a lot of dedication to balance academics and athletics, but Thomas makes this look effortless.

She is a natural leader, representing her peers as a member of the Student Council. She is also a member of the Spanish Club, and she has participated with the Special Olympics program and Eagle Nation Community Outreach. These experiences encourage her to give back to the community and support her classmates.

As a member of Educators Rising, Thomas has been able to observe in classrooms across the district as she prepares to pursue her passion for education. She also holds down a part-time job, and she regularly babysits, dogsits, and tutors.

When she isn’t busy with school or her extracurriculars, Thomas can be found reading, sewing and working out. She has big plans for the future and she is already on the right path. Her teachers and loved ones can’t wait to see her succeed.

“I plan to attend SIUE and study elementary education with an endorsement in special education,” she shared. “I have received the Golden Apple Scholarship!”
