Dameon M. Spraggs, 22, of Alton, was charged on Dec. 5, 2025 with one count each of indecent solicitation of a child (a Class 3 felony) and grooming (a Class 4 felony).
Madison County court records show the charges against Spraggs were sealed on Dec. 5, 2025 and made public on Feb. 25, 2026. The motion to seal his court file states Spraggs posed a risk of flight from prosecution if his name were made public prior to his arrest.
Spraggs is accused of knowingly using Google Chat and Roblox to solicit an 11-year-old child to perform a sexual act from Oct. 17, 2023 to Feb. 26, 2024.
The Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office filed a petition to deny Spraggs’s pretrial release from custody. According to the petition, members of the Alton Police Department received a report from the victim’s parents that she was having conversations with an adult male via Google Chat and Roblox that were “sexual in nature.” The petition states Spraggs knew the victim was a minor during these conversations, when he also reportedly sent the victim an explicit photo of himself.
Spraggs was ordered to be released from custody pending trial, as agreed upon by the parties in this case. Under the conditions of his release, Spraggs has been ordered to have no contact or communication with “any non-familial children under the age of 18,” according to the Release Order filed in this case. He has also been ordered to refrain from possessing a firearm or other dangerous weapon while on pretrial release from custody.
All individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
