EVANSVILLE, IND. - No. 7 seed SIUE will face No. 3 seed Southern Indiana on Thursday afternoon in the Ohio Valley Conference tournament quarterfinals, a matchup that follows two regular-season wins by Southern Indiana over the Cougars.

The game is scheduled for 3 p.m. March 5, 2026, at the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana. SIUE enters at 16-15 overall and 9-12 in OVC play, while Southern Indiana is 20-9 overall and 14-6 in the league.
SIUE secured the No. 7 spot in the tournament field after a 70-43 win over Eastern Illinois on Feb. 28. The Cougars then defeated UT Martin 63-49 to advance to the quarterfinal round against Southern Indiana.
Southern Indiana beat SIUE 70-55 on Jan. 1 and 67-46 on Jan. 31 during the regular season.
SIUE has made eight appearances at the OVC tournament and is 7-8 in those games. The Cougars last played in the tournament in 2023, when they beat Tennessee State 71-64 before losing to Tennessee Tech 76-62.
The Cougars’ season has included several statistical markers. SIUE is averaging 38.4 rebounds per game and has a plus-5.1 rebounding margin, which is second in the OVC and 61st in the NCAA. SIUE is third in the OVC in defensive rebounds per game at 26.4 and second in the league in scoring defense at 59.5 points allowed per game, ranking 67th nationally.
SIUE is also second in the OVC in three-point attempts per game at 22.2 and third in three-pointers made per game at 7.0.
In a Feb. 14 game against UT Martin, four SIUE players scored in double figures: Mohamed (13), Miller (13), Proctor (12) and Kendal George (12). Against the Redhawks in another meeting, five Cougars reached double figures: Kiyoko Proctor (18), Lauren Miller (15), Syanne Mohamed (12), Macy Silvey (12) and Ava Gugliuzza (10).
Assistant coach Liz Doran served as acting head coach against Southern Indiana on Jan. 1 and Morehead State on Jan. 3 while head coach Sam Quigley-Smith welcomed her fifth child, Louis “Louie” Smith.
