
VANDALIA - Jersey Community Middle School wrestling delivered a strong showing at the Sectional Tournament over the weekend in Vandalia, finishing second as a team behind a performance led by three individual champions.

The Panthers were paced by sectional titles from Wade Ball at 119 pounds, Grayson Mangara at 135, and Brody White at 185.
JCMS also received second-place finishes from Roman Williams at 75, Carter Scott at 126, and Colton Mueller at 275.
Third-place finishers included Maddox Williams at 105, Bennett Leslie at 155 and Caleb Olano at 167. Leslie also tied for the most pins in the tournament. Brody Olano placed fourth at 215. Grant Jones at 85 and Andrew Ray at 105 finished as alternates.
JCMS Eighth-Grade Volleyball Battles To 3-Set Match, Seventh Grade Wins
Jersey Community Middle School's eighth-grade volleyball team traveled to Alton to play Edwardsville in the first round of the regional. The Lady Panthers played hard but fell short in a three-set battle, 16-25, 25-18, and 19-25.
JCMS (6th) Volleyball traveled to Trimpe to finish up the season and earned a hard-fought three-set victory. After winning the first set 25–12, the Lady Panthers dropped a close second set 23–25 but came back strong to take the third set 15–6.
With the win, the Lady Panthers finished the season 6–3 in the Trimpe League, earning an impressive 3rd place overall finish. Great job to the team on a strong season.
