Shank, a freshman forward for Metro East Lutheran, has “really stepped up as of late” in the girls basketball campaign, head coach Rob Stock said as the season concluded.
Shank is a BJ's Printables Female Athlete Of The Month.
Coach Stock said Shank is “starting to grow into her role as a swing player” who “can play both guard and forward.”
Stock pointed to several areas of Shank’s game that have stood out as the season has continued.
“She takes the ball to the hoop well but can shoot outside,” Stock said, adding that Shank “has really started to rebound as the season has gone on.”
Stock’s assessment of Shank reflects a player he said is expanding her impact in multiple facets of the game while settling into a role that requires flexibility between positions. He is looking forward to Shank's return as a sophomore in the 2026-2027 season.
