Investigators with the Attorney General’s office conducted a search of Hurley’s Jerseyville home along with Jerseyville police officers and discovered evidence of child sexual abuse material, according to a press release from the Attorney General’s office.

The release notes that Hurley works for the Jerseyville Public Library, and officials are encouraging residents who may have additional information to submit a tip by calling Special Investigator Larry Rayburn at 217-843-0350.

Assistant Attorney General Jenifer Peck will co-prosecute the case with Jersey County State’s Attorney Ben Goetten’s office.

“My office’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force will continue to partner with state and local law enforcement agencies to find and stop individuals who exploit minors,” Raoul said. “Survivors of child exploitation and their families deserve justice for the trauma they have experienced, making it vital we continue to work to hold individuals who trade and download these heinous images and videos accountable.”

All individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
