ST. LOUIS COUNTY - St. Louis County Police are investigating the death of an adult female pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle Friday afternoon in the 1700 block of Lemay Ferry Road, authorities said.

The crash happened just before 2:30 p.m. on March 13, 2026, when officers from the St. Louis County Police South County Precinct responded to a motor vehicle crash on Lemay Ferry Road, police said. When officers arrived, they found the pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle. She was taken to an area hospital for life-saving treatment, but later died and was pronounced deceased.
St. Louis County Police Bureau of Crimes Against Persons and Accident Reconstruction detectives are conducting the death investigation, police said.
The preliminary investigation indicates a driver traveling southbound on Lemay Ferry Road rear-ended another vehicle, police said. After the impact, the striking vehicle left the roadway and hit the pedestrian, who was standing near a bus stop on southbound Lemay Ferry Road.
The driver of the striking vehicle, an adult female, was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said. The driver of the vehicle that was rear-ended remained at the scene and was not injured.
Police said the investigation is active and preliminary details may change. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
