Who is on the Ballot for the Illinois Legislative Primary?

ILLINOIS - The Illinois primary is scheduled for Tuesday, March 17, 2026. Here are the legislative races that are on the ballot.

The Illinois Senate 56th District is currently represented by Republican Erica Harriss. Two Democrats are on the primary ballot to see who will challenge her during the general election on Nov. 3, 2026. Marsie Geldert-Murphey will face Kevin Hall. The Illinois 15th Congressional District is currently represented by Republican Mary Miller. Two Republicans — Judy Bowlby and Ryan Tebrugge — are challenging Miller for the Republican nomination. Meanwhile, four Democrats — Paul Davis, Kyle Nudo, Randy Raley and Jennifer Todd — will vie for the Democratic nomination. Read more about the candidates here.

The Illinois House of Representatives for the 109th District is currently represented by Republican Charles Meier. Zachary Meyer, a Republican, is challenging Meier for the seat.

The Illinois 13th Congressional District is currently represented by Democrat Nikki Budzinski. Democrat Dylan Blaha is challenging Budzinski for the Democratic nomination. Republicans Joshua Loyd and Jeff Wilson hope to take the Republican nomination.

The comptroller seat is currently occupied by Democrat Susana Mendoza, who is not seeking reelection. Four Democrats — Margaret Croke, Stephanie Kifowit, Holly Kim and Karina Villa — hope to fill this role. They are vying for the Democratic nomination in the March 17 primary.
