
JERSEYVILLE — Jersey Community High School opened its softball season with an 11-0 home win over Collinsville, a result that also marked Head Coach Chelsey Crnokrak’s 100th career victory as a varsity head coach.
Jersey scored three runs in the first inning, six in the second, and two more in the fourth to secure the season-opening triumph over the visiting Kahoks.

The Jersey girls softball team members are Sparklight Female Athletes of the Month for the Panthers.
Paxton Weirich led the Panthers with three hits and an RBI. Kamryn Drainer had two hits, including her first home run of the season, and drove in four runs. Anna Kribs added two hits and three RBIs, while Maleah Derrick had two hits and an RBI. Holly Brainerd and Marley Cazier each had a hit and an RBI.
Weirich pitched a complete game for Jersey, allowing three hits. She walked none and struck out nine.
For Collinsville, Makenna Trice had two hits and Payton Smith added the team’s other hit. Aubrey Bordoni took the loss, pitching two innings and allowing nine runs, six earned, on nine hits with one walk and three strikeouts. Smith worked the final two innings, allowing two earned runs on two hits with no walks and one strikeout.
Jersey opened the season 1-0, while Collinsville moved to 1-2.
Jersey is scheduled to play at home against Southwestern at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2026.
