EDWARDSVILLE - Linda Andreas said she was very appreciative of the voting support she garnered to defeat challenger Kurt Prentzler as the Republican nominee for the Madison County Clerk position.
Andreas was declared the Republican nominee for Madison County Clerk, according to the latest unofficial results from the 2026 primary elections, setting up a Nov. 3, 2026, general election contest against Democrat Rachelle Bauerle.

Andreas, the incumbent county clerk, held a lead over challenger Kurt Prenzler with 100% of precincts reporting. Andreas received 52.85% of the vote to Prenzler’s 47.15%, according to the unofficial results.
“I am proud, and I am happy with the results," Andreas said. "I had a wonderful team to help me, just good people. We worked as hard as we could. I am really proud to be here."
Andreas said she looks forward to being allowed to finish what she and her team started with "new, good things coming to the county that people are going to love,” Andreas said if elected in November.
Andreas is set to face Bauerle in the general election this November.
