“Lt. Governor Juliana Stratton is grateful to every voter in Illinois who made their voice heard in today’s election. Her victory has shown that Illinois is ready for bold leadership that will stand up to Donald Trump and always put working people at the forefront. There aren’t a lot of voices in Washington like Juliana’s, but there should be,” said Juliana for Illinois Spokesperson Allison Janowski. “Every day from now until November, Juliana will continue to demonstrate that she’s ready to fight for the people of Illinois and take back our democracy.”

Stratton said afterward: “We did it! Tonight, we showed what’s possible when you listen to the people and give the people what they want! I could not have done it without each and every one of you. Let me start by saying thank you to my amazing husband, Bryan, and our incredible daughters: Tyler, Cassidy Ryan and Mackenzie. I can’t thank you enough for how you for how you have kept me grounded through this entire journey. To my amazing friends, my village – you gave me levity and filled my cup when I was depleted and triumphed with me. My campaign staff showed up every day and gave their fight. I am so proud of this small but mighty team and we have been able to accomplish.”

DPI Chair Hernandez's statement on Stratton’s victory

Democratic Party of Illinois Chair Lisa Hernandez released the following statement following Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton’s electoral win securing the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate:

“Congratulations to Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton for her victory in tonight’s primary.

"From representing Illinois’ 5th District in the General Assembly to serving as Lieutenant Governor for eight years, Juliana has spent her career fighting to make Illinois a place where every community has the chance to thrive. Alongside Governor Pritzker, she has helped to raise the minimum wage, increase abortion protections, strengthen gun laws, and expand economic opportunities.

"Meanwhile, the Illinois GOP will back Don Tracy, a candidate who betrays our state’s values and vows fealty to the tyrant in the White House.

"Illinois needs a senator who will stand up for families, defend our values, and protect our state from Donald Trump and MAGA’s chaos. Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton is more than qualified for the job. The Democratic Party of Illinois is excited to champion Lieutenant Governor Stratton to keep this seat blue and move Illinois forward.”
