Hamilton, an Alton High School graduate, will lead the school’s athletics programs in Alton. The district said Hamilton brings experience in high school and collegiate athletics and a connection to the Alton community.
Hamilton holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a minor in Sports Management from Culver-Stockton College and a master’s degree in athletic administration from William Woods University, according to the release.
“I would like to thank the entire search committee for giving me this opportunity to lead Redbird athletics,” Hamilton said. “Alton High School athletics gave me the opportunity of a college scholarship and to become a first-generation college graduate.
"I plan to give our current and future Redbirds the same support so they can achieve their goals as well. I’m excited to build on the solid foundation Chris Kusnerick has developed at AHS. It’s my goal to continue to push every program to the next level of success both on and off the field.”
Hamilton currently serves as head men’s soccer coach at Culver-Stockton College, where he also works as the social media coordinator for the men’s soccer program, the district said.
Hamilton's previous experience includes serving as head boys’ soccer coach at Alton High School from 2020 to 2022, as well as multiple coaching roles and teaching at Southwestern High School during the 2022-2023 academic year.
“With his experience, leadership, and commitment to student success, Mr. Hamilton is well-positioned to lead Alton High School athletics into the future while continuing to elevate opportunities for all student athletes,” the Alton School District said.
