O'FALLON, IL. - For the third year in a row, a goose has returned to O’Fallon Public Safety Department property to lay her eggs, prompting officers to give the bird space and keep her safe while the department again asks the public for help naming her. The department shared the update in a post titled “O’Fallon Public Safety Goose Update – Year 3,” saying the goose has come back “to the same spot on department property to lay her eggs.”
“At this point, we’re not saying she’s an officer,” the O'Fallon Police Department said, “but she has shown up for duty three years in a row without calling in sick.”

The department said the goose has been “minding her business” and “keeping a watchful eye on things,” while preparing for “her latest batch of little honkers.”
“Officers are giving her space and making sure she stays safe,” the O'Fallon Police Department said.
The department also noted it still does not have a name for the goose and invited the public to suggest one: “Drop your best name ideas in the comments.”
