COLLINSVILLE – The Collinsville Area Community Foundation presented a $1,000 donation to Collinsville High School student Luke O’Hara to support his Eagle Scout project for Willoughby Heritage Farm and Conservation Reserve in Collinsville.
O’Hara, a CHS junior, is building a pergola and deck to replace a deteriorating one at Willoughby Farm. The project will include a new ramp addition that will make it accessible to all visitors. Willoughby Heritage Farm and Conservation Reserve is a public park inspired by 1940's farm life, complete with tractors, barns, a 1930's Craftsman style farmhouse and live animals.

The farm encompasses over 30 acres of wildlife preserve complete with hiking trails, bridges and vistas overlooking the prairie and other areas. The farm is open daily to the public, admission is free. Luke was inspired to give back to Willoughby Farm due to his love of the outdoors and hiking, including hiking and time spent in nature at the farm. CACF is among several Collinsville community organizations who have donated to support the new pergola, deck and ramp. Luke plans to build and complete the project this summer.
