ROXANA - Nick Miles had a big day at the plate, driving in four runs on three hits to lead Roxana to a 15-4 win over Staunton on Tuesday.

Miles did most of his damage early, doubling in the second inning to bring home two runs, then adding another double in the third that cleared the bases for three more runs.
Staunton struck first in the top of the opening inning when Carter Legendre delivered an RBI double. Roxana answered quickly in the bottom half, tying the game behind a Mason Crump double and a passed ball.
The Shells took control in the second inning. Dalton Carriker singled in a run, Miles followed with a two-run double, and Crump added an RBI single to give Roxana the lead for good.
Roxana broke the game open in the third, exploding for nine runs. Keelan Crawford singled home a run, Miles drove in three more with his second double, and Max Autery tripled in a run before later scoring on a sacrifice. Lyndon Thies added an RBI single, and two more runs crossed on an error to cap the inning.
Autery earned the win on the mound, allowing six hits and four runs (three earned) over three innings while striking out seven and walking one.
Miles also contributed in relief, tossing two scoreless innings while allowing just one hit and striking out two.
Roxana racked up 15 hits in the game. Crump and Miles each collected three hits, while Carriker and Logan Cox added multiple hits.
Staunton was led by Legendre, who went 3-for-3 at the plate. Matt Overby, and Aiden Saracco.
