Grenzebach Shines on Softball Field in Senior Season – Is A Byron, Carlson, Petri, & Kalb Athlete of the Month for McGivney

GLEN CARBON – Senior Avery Grenzebach has been a highlight player for the Father McGivney Catholic High School softball team for a few seasons now.

In her final season, she’s bringing the heat.

In a 5-2 win over Collinsville on March 18, she pitched a complete game, striking out eight batters with no walks.

She also went 2-for-3 in the batter’s box with a two-run homerun that literally dented the newly installed scoreboard at FMCHS.

For her excellent performance, Grenzebach is a Byron, Carlson, Petri, & Kalb LLC Athlete of the Month for the Griffins.

She most recently went 1-for-2 with two RBI in a 17-0 walloping over conference rivals Marquette Catholic on March 24.

Grenzebach is one of four seniors in the McGivney starting lineup. The Griffins are currently 2-3 on the young season.
