
ALTON - Marquette Catholic opened its outdoor track and field season with a string of wins and a school record on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at a meet at Civic Memorial High School, led by thrower Jack Beaber’s two first-place finishes and Carson Klasner’s record-breaking run in the 1,600 meters. Another highlight for Marquette was Eliza Boatman with two firsts in the girls' meet.

Beaber won both the shot put and discus, throwing 14.86 meters in the shot put and 52.10 meters in the discus.
Klasner set a Marquette Catholic school record in the 1,600 with a time of 5:04.


The Explorers' Boatman had a big day as she won the 100-meter hurdles in 17.4 seconds and the long jump with a leap of 4.54 meters.
Other strong Marquette Catholic first-place finishers included Karly Davenport in the 100 meters in 13.2 seconds, Lilly Hannigan in the 400-meter dash in 1:06.6, Ari Davenport in the high jump at 4.9.75 meters, and Jami Jones in the shot put at 9.69 meters.
