SOFTBALL
TRIOPIA 13, CALHOUN 4: Triopia topped Calhoun’s girls softball 13-4 in a contest at Calhoun on Tuesday.
Layla Longnecker and Matte Grasle pitched for the Warriors against Triopia. Both girls struck out two in the contest.
Grasle and Camryn Klaas both had two hits for the Warriors.
Kierra Sievers, Conley Klocke, Carly Pohlman, and Bralyn Lammy had single hits for Calhoun.
Calhoun hosts Alton at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, then hosts Barry Western on Friday.
TRIAD 5, PIASA SOUTHWESTERN 0: Triad scored three times in the third, and twice more in the fourth to provide the winning margin over visiting Southwestern.
Addison Haggerty and Abby Harper had two hits each for the Knights, while Harper struck out 16 in a complete game win, throwing a no-hitter. Sydney Timpe struck out six in the circle for the Piasa Birds.
Triad goes to 3-3, while Southwestern is now 1-1.
In other games on Tuesday, Mascoutah defeated Trenton Wesclin 19-2, Okawville won over Campbell Hill Trico 17-1, Freeburg took care of Mariss-Coulterville 11-1, Red Bud won over Breese Central 10-7, and Columbia nipped Belleville West 8-7.
SOCCER
ROXANA 7, EAST ALTON-WOOD RIVER 0: Gianna Stassi had a hat trick, Nova Shaw came up with a brace (two goals), and both Karsyn Kamp and Mia Skinner also scored as Roxana took the three points over EAWR at Norman Lewis Field.
Sidney Ufert made three saves in goal to record the clean sheet.
The Shells are now 2-1-0, while the Oilers open up at 0-1-0.
FATHER MCGIVNEY CATHOLIC 6, MARYVILLE CHRISTIAN 0: Natalie Beck hit for a brace (two goals), while Mira Ahlvers, Bristol Ellis, Sofia Rpssetto, and Layla Tobin also scored as McGivney started off the Gateway Metro Conference season off on the right foot with a win at Maryville.
Peyton Ellis had one save in goal as she and Addison Ronk shared the clean sheet.
The Griffins are now 3-1-0, while the Lions go to 0-3-0.
In other fixtures on the Tuesday schedule, Highland won over Staunton 4-3, Freeburg won at Salem 4-1, Waterloo won over Breese Mater Dei Catholic 6-1, Triad nipped O'Fallon 1-0, and Belleville West got past Granite City 2-1.
BELLEVILLE WEST 10, LINDBERGH 9 (OT): West traveled to south St. Louis County, and played a tight game with Lindbergh, the score tied 9-9 after regulation. The Maroons scored in overtime to take the win.
Addison Schaumleffel scored five goals for West, while Cecelia Duncan and Brynn Flannery-Melson both scored two goals each, and Josie Altmansberger also had a goal. McKenzie Lewis made three saves in goal.
The Maroons open the season 1-0, while the Flyers start off 0-1.
WATERLOO 2, BELLEVILLE ALTHOFF CATHOLIC 1: Meagan Massie scored the only goal of the game for Althoff in their loss at Waterloo.
Both Zoey Massingale and Vera Neville had four saves in goal for the Crusaders, who are now 2-1-0, while the Bulldogs go to 2-0-0.
CIVIC MEMORIAL 4, CARBONDALE 0: Sara Aiello, Kynlee Barnett, Allie Kamp, and Landree Wallace all scored in the first half as CM took the three points over Carbondale at Hauser Field.
Bryleigh Marshall only needed to make one save in goal for the Eagles, who are now 1-1-0, while the Terriers slip to 0-3-0.
BELLEVILLE EAST 5, MASCOUTAH 1: Izzy Brunaugh and Livy Mueller both had braces (two goals each), while Sydney Barns also scored in East's win over Mascoutah at Alumni Field.
Both Abbie House and Beth Zimmerly had one save apiece to share the win for the Lancers, who are now 2-0-0, while the Indians go to 0-2-0.
TRIAD 8, HIGHLAND 0: Peyton Cissell and London Looby both had braces (two goals each), while Kamryn Bohnenstiehl, Izzy Hancock, Averi Moore, and Lilly Zobrist also scored as Triad took the three points from rivals Highland at Knights Field.
Lauren Koberna made two saves in goal for the Knights in sharing the clean sheet with Payton Hartmann, while Alyssa Haye had 17 saves in goal for the Bulldogs.
Triad is now 1-1-1, while Highland goes to 2-1-0.
OAKVILLE 3, COLUMBIA 2: Alaina Rains and Kinley Trexler scored the goals for Columbia in their loss at Oakville in south St. Louis County.
Addy Star had five saves in goal for the Eagles, while Savannah Hanak had one save.
The Tigers open their season 1-0-0, while Columbia slips to 2-1-0.
COLLINSVILLE 5, WATERLOO GIBAULT CATHOLIC 0: Allison Barerra, Karley Call, Peyton Duhadway, Reese Kaufman, and Layla Wilkerson all scored in Collinsville's win over Gibault at Kahok Stadium.
Both Paige Bohnemeier and Karly VanDyke had one save each in sharing the clean sheet.
The Kahoks are now 2-1-0, while the Hawks go to 3-1-0.

THURSDAY, MAR. 19 RESULT
GILLESPIE 4, CARROLLTON 2: In a season opener, Carrollton scored twice in the opening inning to take a 2-0 lead, but Gillespie scored three runs in the second, one more in the third, and the Miners made them stand up to take the win at home.
Kadyn Lake had a hit and two RBIs for the Hawks, while Brookelynn Eilerman struck out three while in the circle.
FRIDAY, MAR. 20 RESULT
CARROLLTON 3, PITTSFIELD 2: Carrollton took the lead with two runs in the fifth, then traded runs with Pittsfield in the sixth to take their first win of the year over the Saukees.
Eilerman had two hits and an RBI for the Hawks, and also fanned four in throwing her second straight complete game in the circle.
Pittsfield is currently 2-1.
SATURDAY, MAR. 21 RESULT
CARROLLTON 9, FRANKLIN SOUTH COUNTY 4: In their home opener on Saturday, Carrollton hit South County with four runs in the second inning, then scored twice in both the third and fourth, and once in the fifth to win over the Vipers.
Both Lake and Eilerman had two hits and two RBIs for the Hawks, while Eilerman struck out four.
South County is currently 0-4.
MONDAYS RESULTS
PETERSBURG PORTA 4, CARROLLTON 0 (8 INNINGS): PORTA scored all of their runs in the top of the eighth inning to break a scoreless tie, giving the Bluejays the win.
Hayden McMurtrie had two hits for the Hawks, while Eilerman struck out nine in a complete game in the circle.
PORTA is now 1-2, while Carrollton goes to 2-2.
JERSEY 6, GREENFIELD NORTHWESTERN 3: Jersey rallied from a 3-1 deficit to tie the game in the sixth with two runs, then scored three times in the seventh to win at Greenfield.
Anna Kribs had a hit and three RBIs for the Panthers, while Paxton Weirich struck out nine in the circle.
Jersey is now 2-1, while the Tigers slip to 1-4.
In other games played on Monday, Edwardsville won over Gillespie 5-0,
CIVIC MEMORIAL 16, COLLINSVILLE 6: A five-run second and a six-run fifth helped CM out to the win over visiting Collinsville.
Emma Wade led the Eagles with four hits, while Olivia Monroe struck out four inside the circle. The Kahoks were led by two hits and a RBI by Ava Demetrulias, while Aubrey Bordoni fanned four in the circle.
CM is now 2-1, while Collinsville goes to 1-6.
DUPO 7, GRANITE CITY 5: Dupo took the lead in the first 4-0, but Granite City got four runs of their own in the fourth to tie the game. The Tigers then scored two in the fifth and one in the sixth, holding the Warriors to a seventh-inning run to take the win.
Riley Carnahan had two hits for Granite, while Isabella Briagas struck out five in the circle.
Dupo is now 2-1, while the Warriors are now 0-4.
WATERLOO 1, BELLEVILLE EAST 0: A single first-inning run stood up for Waterloo in their win at Belleville East.
Sabrina Balloni, Ary Kohler, Abi Monroe, Ryleigh Ochab, and Zoe Peters all had hits for the Lancers, while Monroe also fanned one in the circle.
The Bulldogs are now 6-0, while East is now 3-4.
In the rest of the Monday fixtures, Freeburg won over Highland 17-6, Okawville shut out Breese Mater Dei Catholic 9-0, Breese Central doubled up on Alton 12- 6, Roxana won over Staunton 10-5, and Pleasant Plains defeated Carlinville 9-2.
