Marquette's Beaber Appears Poised For Big Success After Double Win: CM Boys Dominate Outdoor Track Opener

State cross country champion Max Weber competes in 800 meters, MELHS, Carrollton, Madison, boys also shine.

BETHALTO - Jack Beaber of Marquette Catholic appears poised for a sensational outdoor track season. On Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at the Civic Memorial Outdoor Track Opener, he won both the shot put (14.86 meters or 48-9) and discus (52.10 meters or 170-11) in his first competition outdoors in 2026.

Cross country state champion Max Weber of CM also performed in the 800 meters, winning with a time of 2:04.6.

CM won the boys' meet with 158 points, Metro East Lutheran was second with 81.5 points, Marquette Catholic was third with 64.5 points, then Madison with 34 points and Carrollton with 24 points.
