Betsy Dykeman, who owns Airline Care Clinic, is happy to provide $100 DOT physicals. Airline Care Clinic is located inside Rosewood Chiropractic Clinic at 33 East Airline Drive in East Alton. Dykeman noted that DOT physicals can be intensive, but she takes pride in expediting them as much as possible and making sure truck drivers have the paperwork they need to get back on the job.
Dykeman noted that she usually emails people the required paperwork before their appointment, so they can speed up the process.
People who have chronic conditions, like diabetes, might be subject to more paperwork. But Dykeman is always happy to talk people through these requirements so they can do everything they need to do before their appointment.
Dykeman noted that it can be difficult to find a practice that will complete the DOT physicals. She is happy to offer them at her practice, especially as many people in the Riverbend region need these physicals for their jobs.
“There’s been a couple of places that have done the DOT physicals that are no longer doing them. I’m just trying to make myself available,” she explained. “I’m in East Alton, and being around here, there’s a lot of people who need the DOT physical exams. I’m here to do them.”
Dykeman has received positive feedback from patients, and she is proud to help people in the community. Most of her physicals and sick visits cost $40, and she also accepts Medicare. The DOT physicals cost a little more at $100, but this is still more affordable than most other practices.
She emphasized that her goal is to help people who fall through the cracks. While the emergency room and urgent care centers can be great resources, they are also often more expensive and time-consuming. Dykeman hopes Airline Care Clinic can provide a more accessible option for people who need to complete their DOT physicals.
“I don't want people to go to the urgent care or emergency rooms for stuff they don’t need to, but they need to be seen,” she added. “People are happy when they come here to get [DOT physicals] done, just because I am pretty fast with it, and it’s cheaper than most areas, a lot cheaper than most places charge for it. I really want to be able to help out.”
