Johnson said Grubb has been with Johnson’s Corner for 32 years and described her as “a big part of our family through Johnson’s Corner.”

“She is like family,” Johnson said. “I will miss her a lot; she is my backup for everything. The other employees and customers love her and also will miss her."

Johnson said Grubb bartends and has also helped with back-office work and communication with customers. She has assisted in nearly every possible role at the business over the years.

“When my husband, Jimmie, died a year and a half ago, Dena stepped up and took my position in helping me in back office work and communication with customers, making sure everybody is happy and running smoothly,” Johnson said. "I can't thank her enough."

Johnson encouraged people to come out on Grubb’s last day to say goodbye “Friday day and night.”
