Parents and children gathered at 11 a.m. for the event, which featured separate age groups hunting at their own pace. Toddlers were guided by parents, while older children moved quickly to track down brightly colored eggs and fill their baskets with treats. The Easter Bunny greeted children of varying ages with hugs and high fives.

The hunt was sponsored by the Grafton Community Outreach Committee, chaired by First Ward Alderwoman Donna Smith. Chris Petrea, who works with Smith on the Children’s Committee, oversaw details for the event.

“This year, we were glad to see more upcoming toddlers and ‘youngers.’ These events are always a big success thanks to Chris,” Smith said.

Mayor Morrow thanked organizers for the event.

“Thank you to Alderwoman Donna Smith, Chris Petrea and the Outreach Committee for another wonderful family-centered event. This is always a great way to welcome spring,” Morrow said.
