The St. Clair County Coroner's office has identified the woman as Sahab Naheed, 30. Naheed had been reported missing by her family in early December 2025.

The Shiloh Police Department said it responded at about 1:54 p.m. March 31, 2026, after “a homeowner located a deceased female behind brush in the tree line on the edge of the property.”

Officers secured the area, Shiloh Police said. “Due to indications at the scene, it appeared the female had been deceased for an extended period of time,” the department said in a news release dated April 2, 2026. “There were no immediate signs of foul play, but an autopsy is pending.”

The St. Clair County Coroner’s Office and Illinois State Police Crime Scene Services responded to assist, police said.

Police said a missing person report was filed Dec. 9, 2025, for “a female who lives in the neighborhood.” Shiloh Police said: “Clothing located at the scene matches the missing person’s report and has been identified by the family.”

“The Shiloh Police Department would like to extend our condolences to the family and friends of the deceased."

“We will honor their wishes for privacy until an identification can be made," the Shiloh Police said.
