GRANITE CITY, Ill. — Lilli Ray powered Roxana to an 18-2 win over Granite City on Friday, hitting two home runs including a grand slam and driving in six runs as the Shells’ offense erupted early and often.

Ray homered to left field in the top of the first inning, and Roxana Varsity Shells 2026 quickly built a lead. Raegan Martin added a single to center field in the first, with each hit scoring two runs.
Roxana scored five runs on four hits in the second inning. Josie Brannon doubled to drive in two runs, Madison John doubled to bring in one, and Claire Wilkinson singled to score two more.
The Shells added four more runs in the third. Granite City committed an error, and Brannon, John and Wilkinson each delivered RBI singles.
Roxana put the game further out of reach with five runs on four hits in the fourth. Ava Cherry singled in a run, and Ray hit a grand slam to center field.
Kassidy Schuyler earned the win for Roxana, allowing four hits and two runs over four innings while striking out two and walking two. Chloe Randolph took the loss for Granite City, surrendering nine runs on eight hits in two innings, with no strikeouts and two walks.
Roxana finished with 16 hits. John went 4 for 4, and Cherry, Brannon, Wilkinson and Kylah Brown each had multiple hits. Brannon stole two bases. Roxana drew five walks, turned one double play and did not commit an error. Martin led the team with three chances in the field.
For Granite City, Reagan Myatt, Randolph, Nevaeh Becker and Isabella Briagas each had one hit. Briagas and Makayla Adams each drove in a run.
