Orlin Guevara-Ulloa was arrested at 11:32 p.m. on March 30 following a traffic stop on South Park St. near French St. in Hardin, according to the Calhoun Sheriff’s office. Calhoun Sheriff Zach Hardin and Pike County Chief Deputy Zack Orr responded and coordinated with additional law enforcement officials in Pike and Calhoun counties.
Guevara-Ulloa was arrested on allegations of indecent solicitation of a child, grooming — luring a child to commit a sex act, solicitation to meet a child, traveling to meet a child, and possession of a fictitious or altered ID card, the sheriff’s office said.
He was arrested without incident and transported to the Jersey County Jail, the agency said.
The sheriff’s office said the caller was an investigator with Online Predator Intervention, which notified law enforcement officials of the location and description of the subject. The group is described by the sheriff’s office as a civilian organization that uses decoy operations and recorded confrontations to identify suspected offenders.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office thanked the Calhoun County State’s Attorney’s Office, the Pike County Sheriff’s Office, and Online Predator Intervention for assistance in the investigation and arrest.
“Myself and the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office will always remain steadfast in our promise to protect your children and mine; and to keep predators out of Calhoun County,” Hardin said.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
