Through his real estate holdings company, Miltchester Properties LLC, Milton purchased the 3,485-square-foot, 2.5-story property at 122 W. Main St. in the heart of downtown Belleville. The building was originally constructed in 1900. Milton said he plans to invest upwards of $100,000 in renovations and will rename the structure “The Jefferson Building” in honor of his years at Jefferson Elementary School in Belleville.

“Opening an office on Main Street is more than a business expansion; it’s a homecoming,” Milton said. “Belleville shaped who I am, from my days at Jefferson Elementary to Wolf Branch to Belleville East. I am thrilled to join the vibrant Main Street business community and contribute to the growth and future of the city.”

Once complete, the street-level space will serve as Milton Law Group’s Southern Illinois satellite office. The firm specializes in tax controversy matters, representing individuals and businesses in disputes with the IRS and state taxing authorities.

Milton is a 2003 graduate of Belleville East High School. He earned an accounting degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a law degree from Saint Louis University School of Law. After law school, he worked as a trial attorney with the Tax Division of the U.S. Department of Justice through the Attorney General Honors Program.

In addition to the law office, renovation plans include a one-bedroom apartment with views of Main Street and a third-floor loft. The property also includes dedicated parking spaces.

The seller, Belleville attorney James Mendillo, was represented by Jim VonDerHaar with Berkshire Hathaway Select Properties. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Milton Law Group will maintain its primary headquarters in Kirkwood, Missouri, at 11004 Manchester Road, a property also owned by Miltchester Properties LLC.
