SOFTBALL

JERSEY 8, ROXANA 5: Jersey scored two runs in the third, five in the fourth, and once in the sixth to win over Roxana at home.

Anna Kribs had two hits, including a home run, and five RBIs for the Panthers, while Paxton Weirich went all the way inside the circle, fanning 14.

Jersey is now 7-2, while the Shells go to 8-2.

BELLEVILLE EAST 19, GRANITE CITY 0: It was all East, as the Lancers scored two runs in the first, three in both the second and third innings, and 11 more in the fourth to take the win over Granite City at the Nelson Hagnauer Sports Complex.

Milyn Roehr, Alexis Ruiz, and Peyton Shipley had the hits for the Warriors, while Isabella Briagas went all the way in the circle, but couldn't strike anyone out.

East is now 11-5, while Granite goes to 1-10.

PAWNEE 6, CARLINVILLE 4: Pawnee scored all of its runs in the first three innings in going on to a home win over visiting Carlinville.

Makenna Harding came up with a hit and an RBI for the Cavaliers, while Hallie Gibson went all the way in the circle, fanning 12.

The Indians are now 4-2, while Carlinville is now 3-4.

EAST ALTON-WOOD RIVER 5, WATERLOO GIBAULT CATHOLIC 3: Trailing 3-1 after four innings, EAWR rallied to score three runs to take the lead in the sixth, then added an insurance run later as the Oilers came from behind to win over Gibault.

Emily Fry had two hits and three RBIs for EAWR, while Ellie Beechum went the distance in the circle, striking out 17.

The Oilers are now 2-6, while the Hawks fall to 3-5.

COLUMBIA 17, SOUTHWESTERN 7: A pair of five-run innings, in the third and fourth, allowed Columbia to take the road win at Southwestern.

Mis Wolf had three hits and an RBI for the Piasa Birds, while Kaylin Broyles had two hits, including a home run, and three RBIs. Sydney Timpe struck out three while in the circle.

The Eagles are now 6-2 while Southwestern goes to 3-5.

In the rest of the Monday schedule, Okawville stopped Breese Central 7-3, Breese Mater Dei Catholic won over Hillsboro 7-2, and Centralia won over Mascoutah 6-1.

SOCCER

In three girls' soccer matches played on Monday, Hazelwood East of north St. Louis County defeated East Alton-Wood River 4-1, Staunton won over Metro-East Lutheran 8-0, and Waterloo Gibault Catholic nipped Civic Memorial 2-1.
