ROXANA - Roxana used an 18-run second inning to rout the East Alton-Wood River Oilers 20-1 on Thursday in a boys baseball matchup at Roxana High School.

Roxana broke the game open with 18 runs on eight hits in the bottom of the second. Max Autery was hit by a pitch to force in a run, Mason Crump drew a walk to bring home a run, Sean Maberry doubled to drive in three runs and Joseph Johnson tripled to score one.
Lyndon Thies and Keelan Crawford each drew a walk with the bases loaded, Dalton Carriker singled to drive in two, and two errors brought in three more runs. Crump later singled in a run, Carriker drew a bases-loaded walk, and Autery and Jackson Null were each hit by a pitch to force in runs.
Roxana opened the scoring in the bottom of the first with two walks. Crump drew a walk that scored a run.
Thies earned the win for Roxana, allowing one hit and one run over two innings. He struck out two and walked four.
Kale Carpenter took the loss for East Alton-Wood River. He allowed 13 runs, 11 earned, on six hits over 1 1/3 innings, with eight walks and no strikeouts.
Jerald Downs led East Alton-Wood River with one RBI. Canaan Cook went 1 for 1 to lead the Oilers in hits.
Maberry led Roxana with three RBIs and went 1 for 3. Johnson and Crawford each had two hits, and Nick Miles drew three walks.
