As a High Honor Roll and National Honors Society Student, Lakin added she’s “honored to represent my school.” After graduation, she plans on majoring in Biology at a four-year university, then attending graduate school to earn a PhD in Forensic Science.
Aside from school activities, Lakin works as a lifeguard and front desk clerk at the Jersey Community Hospital Wellness Center, where she teaches swim lessons. She also teaches swim lessons at Westlake Country Club and volunteers for the children’s program at her church. In her spare time, Lakin said she enjoys photography, reading, music, taking walks, and hanging out with friends.
“Josie is a dedicated student who quietly works hard in all of her classes and consistently earns excellent grades,” Teacher Shelby Eisler said. “Beyond the classroom, she is an active member of theater and book club, showing both talent and commitment in all she does!”
Principal Thomas Leslie described Lakin as “a high character student at JCHS.”
“If she gets involved in something, she is going to give 100%,” Leslie said. “I've known Josie for a long time and it has been a joy to watch her grow into such a talented and dedicated young lady.”
