For his accomplishments, Matthew Halbrook is a Student of the Month for Father McGivney Catholic High School.
Halbrook, a senior, is a captain of the varsity boys volleyball team and serves as a huddle leader with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes organization. It takes a lot of responsibility to balance academics and athletics, but Halbrook does so gracefully.
He also serves as a House Captain of Faith Formation and a St. Kateri Tekakwitha House Leader. He is a mentor with the Fraternity as One organization. Leadership is important to Halbrook, and he demonstrates this quality in everything he does.
He also enjoys his time with the Griffins for Life organization, the Green Griffins Recycling Club, and the drama department. He was recently nominated for prom court.
As a sophomore, Halbrook was inducted into the National Honor Society, which requires high grades and many hours of community service. He gives back as a St. Elizabeth Catholic Teens Youth Group Leader, a St. Mary’s Catholic School boys volleyball coach, and a member of the Illinois Air National Guard.
In his free time, Halbrook enjoys spending time with his friends and playing music. He often performs praise and worship, country, folk and Americana music for audiences.
He has big plans for the future, and his teachers and loved ones can’t wait to see his success.
“I plan to serve in the Air National Guard and pursue a career as a pilot,” he shared.
Congratulations to Matthew for this recognition by Father McGivney Catholic High School!
