BETHALTO - Grant Shirley is a well-rounded student.

For his hard work, Grant Shirley is a DD Homes Network Student of the Month for Civic Memorial High School.
Shirley, a senior, has played in the school’s marching and concert bands since his freshman year. He loves music and collaborating with his fellow band members to put on a great show. He also performs with the Alton Municipal Band.
He helps with sets and serves as a member of the stage crew for the school’s musicals and plays. He was the stage manager for two years.
Shirley participates on the tennis and bowling teams at CM and is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes organization. It takes a lot of responsibility to balance sports and school, but he does this gracefully.
He has been inducted into the mathematics honor society Mu Alpha Theta, the Tri-M music honor society, and National Honor Society. These organizations require high grades and many hours of community service. It’s important to Shirley to give back whenever he can.
Outside of school, Shirley holds down a part-time job. He enjoys going to concerts, watching and playing sports, and “going on random side quests” with his friends.
He knows exactly what he plans to do after high school. Just as they do now when he’s performing or playing, his loved ones and teachers will be cheering him on.
“I plan to continue my education at Maryville University to study physical therapy,” he shared.
Congratulations to Grant for this recognition by Civic Memorial High School and the DD Homes Network!
