Maberry is a Midwest Members Credit Union Male Athlete of the Month for his work as an outfielder and hitter for Roxana baseball this spring.
He also played forward for the Shells’ basketball team and running back and linebacker for the football team, and was a catalyst for both squads.
Briggs said Maberry “will go down as one of the best three-sport athletes to ever come through the Shells program.” Sean is also an excellent student at Roxana.
Maberry started on varsity as a freshman and was a leader for Briggs’ basketball squad, Briggs said. He described Maberry as “one of the fiercest competitors I have ever coached.”
“Sean is just a great kid,” Briggs said. “He is a good student and a good role model for the other kids. He is one of our best kids here at the school.”
In December 2025, Maberry became the 15th player in Roxana boys basketball history to score 1,000 points, doing so in a contest against Freeburg.
