Alton School Board Appoints New Middle School Assistant Principal

ALTON - During their regular meeting on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, the Alton Community Unit School District #11 Board of Education unanimously appointed Claire Gorman to the role of assistant principal at Alton Middle School.

“I am a graduate of Alton, so it is definitely an honor to step into this new role,” Gorman said. “The community has definitely shaped me and who I am today.”

Gorman thanked the Board of Education for their decision to appoint her. She noted that she has worked in the Alton School District for a few years now, and it means a lot to work in the district where she was educated.

The Board of Education and the administrators at the meeting extended their congratulations to Gorman. She expressed her excitement to take on this new position.

“I’m excited to get started, build relationships, support our students, staff, and families,” she added.

Gorman will begin her role effective July 1, 2026.
