Returner and Two-Way Player Added to River Dragons Roster  

Team roster strengthens as season opener approaches, promising exciting baseball action for fans.

ALTON - The Alton River Dragons announce the return of middle infielder Brandon Gour while welcoming two-way player Griffin Kelly to the 2026 roster.

Brandon Gour is a senior middle infielder at the University of Fort Lauderdale who comes back to Alton after joining the team for the second half of 2025. He batted .304 with a .529 on-base percentage over eight games. This is his first season at U.F.L. after previously attending Central Maine Community College. A native of Clinton, MA, he participated in a multitude of sports in high school in addition to baseball including basketball, bowling, cross country and track and field.

Griffin Kelly is a freshman left-handed pitcher and first baseman at Harper College. He is currently hitting .400 over 15 games while accumulating 29 strikeouts over 29.2 innings on the mound. A business management major from Buffalo Grove, IL, he was the MSL East Player of the Year as a junior 2024 and earned All-Conference as a junior and senior.

The 2026 River Dragons season begins Tuesday May 26th at Quincy with the home opener slated for Tuesday June 2nd against Dubois County. The 2026 River Dragons will again be led by returning manager Jarrod Brissenden. In addition, for a second consecutive season, select games will be carried by 107.1FM WBGZ.

Also back for a fourth consecutive year, is the NCBA World Series, with both the Division I and Division II Tournaments taking place at Lloyd Hopkins Field starting May 15th.
