Bethalto East Primary School Principal Resigns to Pursue New Opportunity

BETHALTO - During their regular meeting on Thursday, April 23, 2026, the Bethalto Community Unit School District #8 Board of Education approved the resignation of Bethalto East Primary School Principal Crissy Pavlinek.

The Board unanimously approved this resignation as one of several personnel actions. Board member Samantha Pritchett was absent.

In an email shared after the meeting, Pavlinek expressed her appreciation for the team at Bethalto East and the school district.

“I am grateful for my time at Bethalto East and for the opportunity to work alongside such a dedicated staff, supportive families, and incredible students,” Pavlinek said. “I am pursuing an opportunity that aligns with my long-term professional goals and allows me to continue supporting student learning and school improvement. At this time, I am committed to finishing the year strong with our students and staff, and I wish the Bethalto community continued success moving forward.”

She noted in her resignation letter that she has been “incredibly honored” to serve the Bethalto community, adding that she was “committed to ensuring a smooth transition” for students and staff members.

Though Pavlinek said her resignation was sent “with a heavy heart,” she emphasized that she is thankful for the opportunity she had to serve Bethalto schools. She said she will “always hold [Bethalto] in high regard.”

“It has truly been an honor to be part of this community,” she added. “It is truly an amazing school community.”
