ROXANA - Josie Brannon drove in four runs as Roxana Shells routed the Metro-East Lutheran Knights 21-0 on Wednesday, powering a game that swung early with a 12-run first inning.

Brannon had two hits, tripling in the first inning to score two runs and doubling in the second to bring home two more. Roxana Shells built its lead in the opening frame with a mix of hits, walks and hit batters, including RBIs from Madison John, Claire Wilkinson, Aubree Pochek, Kassidy Schuyler, Randi Parko, Brannon and Lilli Ray.
Roxana added six more runs in the bottom of the second inning on two hits, highlighted by Brannon’s two-run double and an RBI single from Ray. Willow Gross and Kate Garrison were each struck by a pitch with the bases occupied, driving in runs, and one run scored on a fielder’s choice.
The Shells tacked on three additional runs in the third inning when John singled to right field, Garrison was hit by a pitch and Emma Gischer drew a walk, each bringing in a run.
Schuyler earned the win for Roxana, allowing three hits over three innings while striking out seven and walking one. Anna Adams started for Metro-East Lutheran and gave up six hits and 16 runs, 13 earned, in one inning, with seven walks and no strikeouts.
Raegan Martin worked one scoreless inning in relief for Roxana, striking out two and walking one.
Ava Cherry, Brannon and John each had two hits for Roxana. The Shells drew 12 walks, with Ray and Schuyler collecting two apiece, and committed no errors.
For Metro-East Lutheran, Jenkins, Thea Ball and Adams each had one hit.
