ROXANA - Roxana shut out Marquette Catholic 4-0 on Wednesday behind a two-pitcher effort that included a dominant start from Bradley Herrin and a scoreless relief inning from Dean Cundari.

Herrin and Cundari combined to hold Marquette Catholic hitless, with Herrin striking out 12 over six innings and Cundari closing the game by inducing a groundout from Logan Sherman for the final out. Roxana’s defense backed them up without committing an error.
Roxana broke through in the bottom of the fifth inning, scoring after three singles. Max Autery put Roxana on the board with an RBI single.
Nick Miles led Roxana at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBIs. Autery, Dalton Carriker, Mason Crump, Miles, Lyndon Thies and Logan Cox each had one hit.
Robert Roentz took the loss for Marquette Catholic. He worked four and two-thirds innings, allowing four runs on five hits with two walks and no strikeouts.
In relief, Cundari pitched one inning of no-run ball, allowing no hits while striking out one and walking none.
