Edwardsville Head Boys Basketball Coach Receives Second Consecutive State Award

Coach Dustin Battas was recognized as Region 19 Coach of the Year for Class 4A, marking consecutive wins for his leadership at EHS.

EDWARDSVILLE - Edwardsville High School boys basketball coach Dustin Battas has been named the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Region 19 Coach of the Year in Class 4A for the second straight year, Edwardsville School District #7 announced.

The district announced the honor and congratulated Battas, singling out the team’s strong performance during the past season.

Under Battas’ direction in the 2025-2026 season, the Tigers went 24-8 and won their first regional championship since 2017, according to the district.

“This is the second straight year Coach Battas has earned the honor,” the district said.
