Metro-East Lutheran got on the board in the top of the first inning after Drake Luebbert doubled down the left field line, Sammy Huber singled to right field, and Charlie Frey grounded out, each scoring one run.
Marquette Catholic Varsity Explorers captured the lead, 6-4, in the bottom of the fifth when Joe Stephan singled, scoring one run, Eli Rodgers tripled, scoring two runs, and Ethan Dempsey hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.
Cohen Green earned the win for Marquette Catholic Varsity Explorers. The pitcher gave up three hits and one run (zero earned) over four and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking one.
Luebbert took the loss for Metro-East Lutheran. The pitcher went six innings, surrendering six runs (five earned) on six hits, striking out three and walking one.
