With the win, the Tigers clinched a tie for the title with O'Fallon, who won their game over Belleville West 13-3, and can clinch the title outright with a win or a Panther loss on Thursday.

The Tigers went ahead with one out in the first inning, as Hunter Baugh drew a walk, and was tripled home by Kirgan to put Edwardsville up 1-0. Tyson Wampler then doubled home Kirgan to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead, and Joel Fields singled, sending Wampler to third. Fields was picked off first, but Wampler stole home on the play to give the Tigers a 3-0 lead, with Nick Chiarodo singling to center. Nathan Bukovac singled Chiarodo to second, and a Leas single to center scored Chiarodo to make the score 4-0, but Bukovac was thrown out at third to end the inning.

The Kahoks got a run back in the second, starting with a one-out single by Roman Pomerantz, who went to third on a double by Mason Ponder. Cal Swartz was hit by a pitch to load the bases, and Braden Henson drew a walk to force home Pomerantz to cut the Tiger lead to 4-1. A double play ended the inning.

Pomerantz walked to open the Collinsville fourth, and two outs later, Henson reached on an error by the third baseman, with Pomerantz taking third and Henson going to second. Carson Parrill then reached on an error by the shortstop, allowing two runs to score and cutting the Edwardsville lead to 4-3. Parrill was forced at second to end the inning.

The Tigers put the game to bed in the top of the sixth, when, with one out, Bukovac singled and came home on a Leas double to center, making the score 5-3. Maxwell stole second, and both he and Gierich scored on an Andrew McCutchen base hit to left, giving Edwardsville a 7-3 lead. McCutchen then stole second, Baugh drew a walk, and both scored on a double by Kirgan to make it 9-3.

Collinsville scored twice in the seventh, all happening with two out. Carter Henson, Henry Stirnaman, and Pomerantz all drew walks to load the bases, and back-to-back RBI singles by Tyler Hunterbrinker and Swartz scored Henson and Stirnaman to make it 9-5, but a strikeout ended the game in favor of Edwardsville.
