ALTON - The City of Alton Parks & Recreation Department is thrilled to announce that registration is officially open for its highly anticipated Summer 2026 season. Featuring a diverse range of activities from youth sports and day camps to wellness programs for adults, the city is prepared to offer residents an active and engaging summer.

Youth Summer Day Camp

Running from June 8 through July 17, the Summer Day Camp at Gordon Moore Park offers children entering 1st through 6th grade a chance to explore the outdoors. For $45 per week, campers will participate in activities ranging from archery to fishing. Sessions run Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Playtime in the Park

Designed for children ages 3 to 10, "Playtime in the Park" takes place every Wednesday in June and July. This series features themed events such as Bubble Fest on the River, Nature Scavenger Hunts, and Ice Cream in the Park. Parents can register their children for $5 per session or $35 for the full 8-week series. Parents must be present at every session.

Tennis Development Program

In partnership with Ace Mobility, the Tennis Development Program returns to the Bud Simpson Tennis Courts. Instructed by former college players and USTA certified coaches, this program serves youth ages 7 to 14. Weekly sessions are available throughout June and July for $60 per week.

Yoga in the Park Series

Adults looking to stay active can join the Yoga in the Park series. With sessions held at Riverfront Park and the Gordon Moore Park Rose Garden, participants can experience Sunrise, Sunset, and Rose Yoga led by certified instructors for just $15 per session.
