The pantry said the new facility is planned to provide expanded food storage capacity, improved accessibility, enhanced client services, and a permanent home to support its long-term mission to serve more families across Edwardsville and Glen-Carbon.

The organization cited increased financial strain for many families due to rising costs and changes to SNAP benefits and other assistance programs, as well as growing demand seen by food pantries across the region.

Photo and video opportunities are expected to include a ceremonial shovel event, community leaders and supporters gathered onsite, interviews with pantry leadership, and renderings or site visuals of the future facility.

Glen-Ed Pantry is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving individuals and families in the Edwardsville Community Unit School District #7. More information is available at glenedpantry.org or by calling (618) 656-7506.
