“IDOT is investing $22 million to maintain the bridge in a state of good repair,” IDOT said. “This work will include daytime lane closures.”

IDOT urged motorists to plan for delays during the work.

“Motorists should expect long delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes during the work," IDOT said. "Drivers are expected to reduce speed, be alert for changing conditions, obey all construction signage, and refrain from using mobile devices while approaching and traveling through the work zone.”
