Marquette Catholic now plays Gillespie at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Gillespie for the 2A regional crown.

Gillespie beat Southwestern 5-2 in the other Gillespie Regional semifinal matchup.
Marquette scored four runs in the fifth inning to take command of the game. Staunton scored two runs in the sixth inning, but it was not enough to upend Marquette. Marquette also scored a run in the first inning, and Staunton had a run in the fourth inning.
Kooper Morrisey had two hits and two RBI in the game for Marquette. Joe Stephan, Robert Roentz, Keller Jacobs, and Jack Rea also had a hit.
Roentz drove in three runs. Jacobs pitched six innings for Marquette; Toby Eberlin pitched the final inning for Marquette in the win. Jacobs struck out three batters.
GILLESPIE 5, PIASA SOUTHWESTERN 2: In the Gillespie Regional, the hosts scored once in the first, and twice in both the third and fourth before the game was shortened by rain, with the Miners declared the winners, and advancing to the final.
Gillespie's Luke Schuckenbrock had three hits in the game to lead all hitters, while Braden Reich and Brody Shaw added single hits. Schuckenbrock was also the winning pitcher.
Reed Campbell and John Kunz had a hit and an RBI each for the Piasa Birds, while Carter Watson struck out three on the mound.
Gillespie is now 20-7-1, and advances to the final on Saturday, while Southwestern was eliminated at 11-24.
