ROXANA - Mason Crump finished his Roxana Shells baseball career with two hits and an RBI and now will move his career on to Indian Hills Community College next season, his head baseball coach, Jerry Wheaton, said after Wednesday's sectional semifinal game.
Mason broke the Roxana High School career strikeout record this spring, previously held by Logan Reardon at 235. Mason is also at the top of the charts for career wins on the mound for the Shells.

Crump was an outstanding football player, gaining 1,049 yards in 138 carries and 14 touchdowns rushing in 2025. He had 1,928 yards in his Shells career as a football player and 24 touchdowns.
Coach Wheaton said Crump was one of those guys for four years who just gets the job done when he needs to.
"He was one of the middle-of-the-order guys since his freshman year for us, one of our top two pitchers for the last four years, and can play multiple positions," Coach Wheaton said. "He has an absolute fighter's mentality, plays with so much emotion and heart.
"And he's another two-sport athlete who had a fantastic football career as well. He is going to Indian Hills Community College to play baseball and is going to do well in his career and life ahead."
