
ROXANA - Roxana's Gianna Stassi is a powerful two-spring sports athlete for Roxana's Shells.
In 24 hours recently, Gianna played a regional soccer final at night against Marquette Catholic at Public School Stadium in Alton, then made a trek to the IHSA Girls State Track and Field Championships and competed in the 3,200 meters the following morning. She performed at high levels for both teams.

Stassi is one of the Shells' biggest offensive weapons in soccer, but is all over the field and also a strong player defensively.
Stassi is a Midwest Members Credit Union Female Athlete of the Month for the Shells.
In track, she qualified for state in the 1,600 meters (third at the sectional with a time of 5:41.41) and the 3,200 meters (11:55.23), finishing second at the Triad 2A Sectional.
At the state meet, Gianna was 25th in the 3,200 with a time of 12:05.19. She was the Madison County Small Schools champion in the 1,600 meters (5:50.96) and the 3,200 meters (12:32.96). She was also the Cahokia Conference girls champion in the 1,600 (5:42.41) and 3,200 meters (12:37.96).
Stassi combines incredible endurance with speed in her two spring sports.
In the fall, Stassi will be a key member of Roxana's girls' cross country team. She enters her senior season in August 2026.
