Raglin made her community proud when she took first place in both the 100 and 200 meter races at the IHSA Class 3A Girls State Track and Field Meet on May 23, 2026. She also placed eighth in the 400 meter race.
At the last Godfrey Village Board meeting, Raglin was honored with the proclamation of June 2, 2026 as “Rayna Raglin Day” in the village.
“Rayna Raglin is a standout athlete on the field and student in the classroom,” Trustee Sarah Woodman said. “The Village of Godfrey would like to recognize Rayna Raglin for her dedication and hard work, and to celebrate her achievements in winning two state titles in track.”
After completing her senior year at Alton High School, Raglin is leaving the Riverbend on June 24, 2026 to start a new chapter in Tampa, Fla., where she plans to attend college and continue her track and field career.
“Raglin intends to continue her pursuit of dominance in track events, earning her a Woman’s Track and Field scholarship while pursuing a college education in Florida,” Woodman said.
Trustee Craig Lombardi spoke highly of Raglin’s work ethic, adding that from Nautilus Fitness Center to the state track meet, Raglin’s performance has been impressive to witness. As a final note to Raglin, he added: “As great as you were as an athlete, you’re a great person, so keep that up.”
This latest recognition comes just over a week after Raglin was honored at the Memorial Day Parade in Alton with thousands in attendance.
